ARC OUTRIDES 2003

MATHERAN OUTRIDE 2003:

After a break of many years, a ride to Matheran was planned in which 7 club horses were taken to Matheran by truck. Mr. Kinner Lakhani assisted Mr. N.J. Jhaveri to escort the horses safely walking from Jumapatti to Matheran. Arrangements were made for members in a hired bungalow where they stayed from 24th May to 3rd June, 2003. Daily morning and evening rides were undertaken under the watchful eye of Mr. Tolly Jhaveri. The members also took part in the annual Municipal sports of Matheran where the following members scored positions:

Tent Pegging - Mr. Manoj Sippy - I
Tent Pegging - Mr. Kinner Lakhani - II

Mr.Yashaan Khambatta was adjudged the Best Rider at the sports and Mr. Manoj Sippy adjudged overall Champion Rider.

NDA OUTRIDE 2003:

Your club is fostering equestrian relationships with other outstation clubs/institutions to help increase members interaction. A trip was planned to the National Defence Academy, which is a premier defence establishment in Asia, on 18/19th January, 2003. About 30 members of your club visited the NDA. A polo game was arranged in the afternoon followed by a dinner at their Officers institute. The morning rides over the hills was a thrilling experience for the members. The exciting ride was followed by a sumptuous breakfast at the Equitation wing. Some members visited other wings of the Institute. The NDA authorities gave a video demo of the various activities of the NDA. I remember two members who were motivated to send their children to be officers in the Armed forces of the country. Good Show, the Army needs good young officers in their cadres.
